DDRMAX is the latest Dance Dance Revolution game from Konami, and is the first version of DDR on the PlayStation 2. It features enhanced graphics, faster loading times, and more than 65 songs spanning 100+ minutes of dance music, including house, techno, R&B, and trance. DDRMax also features songs that are unique to the US release and includes songs by Darude, Aurora, JS16, and Reel 2 Reel.
DDRMax now has four levels of difficulty (including the unbelievably hard Oni Mode) to go along with immediately-available single, versus, and double-pad play. Edit Mode is now more flexible, making it easier to design your own step patterns and routines for particular songs. Workout Mode, of course is still available to help you get into shape.
Freeze Arrows, borrowed from Para Para Paradise and Dance Maniax, are brand new. These are steps where you have to hold your foot down on the corresponding arrow button until the arrow lets up. There is also an option called "Reverse" which makes the arrows scroll down instead of up! If that isn't challenging enough for you, there is also a mode called "Boost" which slows the arrows down and rapidly increases the speed of the arrows as it scrolls.
